Peoria, IL

Ronald Dale Barrington, 64, of Peoria passed away on Friday, May 18, 2007, at his home. 

He was born in Springfield to Dale and Frances Brookshire Barrington on January 11, 1943; they preceded him in death, Ronald is survived by his children; Leslie O'Brien of Center, Mo., Jeffrey (Mary) Ferry of Perry, Mo., Ronald Barrington of New Braunfels, Texas, and Jaimee Barrington of Minneapolis.  He also leaves behind his eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.   

Sgt. Barrington served three tours in Vietnam, was a Green Beret in the Special Forces and a 3rd degree black belt mastering in the martial arts.  He owned and operated Barrington Arms and Antiques in Peoria for 10 years and was a certified geologist.  He also was a retired Forest Ranger in the Federal National Resources-Law Enforcement and was a founder of Henson Robinson Zoo in Springfield.

Sgt Barrington was our NCOIC of the artillery surveyors.  Danny Yates and I served with him in 1966 - 1967.
