PVT JOHN W. KIRK
CANNONEER, "A" BATTERY

John
W. Kirk, 70, passed away in his home on September 19, 2016 after a long illness
he acquired during the Vietnam War. He was born July 8, 1946, to Harold and
Claudia (Dillon) Kirk. They preceded him in death. Two siblings, Phyllis Boyer
and David Kirk, also preceded him in death.
On
April 17, 1983, John married Kathy Montplaisir. She survives. Also left to
cherish his memory are three children, Steven (Hanna) Kirk and Jennifer (Scott)
Willoughby, both of Wl and Michael (Julia)Kirk of South Bend; two stepchildren,
Ray (Merry) Wilkerson of CA and Christina (Brian) Martin of South Bend; brother,
French Kirk and sister, Connie Johnson, both of CA; and 12 precious
grandchildren.
John
was a loving husband and father, and a faithful Patriot who proudly served our
Country during the Vietnam War. Many will miss him, including his beloved dog,
Barkley.
John’s
wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of
life service will be held on Sunday, September 25th at 4:00PM
at the American Legion, Post 303, 2503 Mishawaka Ave. South Bend, IN 46615.
