Thomas
(Tom) P. Roman, Age 70, passed away on January 15, 2020 after a courageous
battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. Tom will be deeply missed by
his wife Susan, son Christopher, twin grandchildren, and his very dear niece
Adrienne.
Tom
was born in Danbury, CT on 1/21/1949 to Pasco and Wanda Stankiewicz Roman. Tom
was predeceased by his parents and his sister Donna O’Brien. Tom cared for his
parents and sister until their passing. Tom served in the Army during the
Vietnam War in the artillery unit, fourth infantry. His love for his country
never waivered and he was honorably discharged in 1971. Tom continued his public
service and became a police officer in Danbury, CT until his retirement in 1994
as Captain “The Boss” Commander of the Narcotics Tactical Team. Tom was
married first to a wonderful woman, Mary Clowser Roman which afforded him an
instant family after adopting baby Christopher whom he adored.
Tom
enjoyed flying and received his pilot’s license in 1984. He also continued to
care for his community and volunteered for many charitable organizations such as
Meals on Wheels, helping special needs kids and participating in the Special
Olympics. Tom liked to keep himself fit by working out every day even during his
illness. He enjoyed golf where he met and married Susan. Together, they built a
wonderful life full of travel, family and friends. Susan’s family adopted Tom
as a son and brother who shall be greatly missed.
Anyone
who knew Tom appreciated is good humor, caring nature and selflessness. He had a
beautiful soul and his loss will be deeply felt especially by his loving wife
Susan. It is a comfort to Tom’s family to know that he accepted the lord and
is resting in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to two of Tom’s favorite organizations. Make a Wish Foundation and Disabled American Veterans.

would like to express my condolences to the Roman family for their loss.
I always knew Tommy to be a good and decent person, a good friend, neighbor and
a good cop. Tommy is in good company now with the those who preceded him .
Perhaps I will see him again one day.
