George R. Bishop, passed away June 20, 2009. He was born in Fayetteville, Georgia on November 25, 1929. George served in the United States Army from 1950-1970. A veteran of Vietnam War, George served in Korea and Germany. He retired from the Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class. George had a second career with the bankers Trust in Columbia, S.C. and retired as a VP in bank administration. George is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ella E. Bishop; brothers, James, Gerald, and Bobby; sisters, Doris O'Neal and Lorene Couch; his godchild, Amanda Allen and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 25, 2009, 11am at Hardage- Giddens Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
