James Arnold DeLoney, age 81, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024. He was born June 8, 1942, in Winnfield, Louisiana, to Willis L. and Vera Mae DeLoney. He was married to Donna Lynn DeLoney for 55 years. James worked for Texas Parks and Wildlife for 25 years and Nevada State Parks for 5 years. James was a Vietnam Vet and served as Forward Observer and was a Bronze Star recipient. He served active Army for 7 years and 22 years Army Reserve, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. James was a member of the Campus Church and Gideons International. James had a passion for running 10K’s, fishing and classic cars.

James was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy DeLoney; father, Willis L. DeLoney; and mother, Vera Mae DeLoney.

James is survived by his wife, Donna DeLoney; sister, Peggy DeLoney; brother, Mike DeLoney; son, Chris (Katie) DeLoney; daughter, Loraine DeLoney; granddaughter, Sarah (Jared) Gross; grandson, Tommy DeLoney and grandson, Ryan DeLoney.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Florida.

Pallbearers will be Alex Fulfer, Jared Gross, Ron Schemner, Craig Lewis, David Pasqualone and Eric Henderson.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, is entrusted with arrangements.
