Richard Keith Carlton, 88 of Texarkana, Texas passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, in Texarkana, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at Bell Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with Mr. Brad Featherston officiating.

Keith was born Wednesday, September 26, 1934 in Odell, Texas. He was the son of the late Floyd Carlton and the late Eva Hill Carlton. Keith served as a Captain U.S. Army in Vietnam and an Airborne Para Trooper.  He received two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star.  He was a Principal Broker for Vernon-Davis Real Estate and the President of the Realtors Association of Texas for many years. Richard also served as President of the Santa Rosa Palomino Club and the President of the Hillcrest Country Club.

Keith is survived by one brother, Terry Carlton & wife Catherine of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Linda Chilton & husband Robert of Vernon, Texas; one daughter, Kelly Stone & husband Mike of Texarkana, Texas; one son, Chris Carlton of Vernon, Texas; six grandchildren, Nathan Stokes & wife Whitney of Texarkana, Texas, Christina Horne & husband Justin of Vernon, Texas, Audra Stokes & husband Brandon of Maud, Texas, Eric Stokes of Fort Myers, Florida, Sarah Minor & husband Shane of Vernon, Texas, and Miranda Carlton & husband Jordan of Tyler, Texas; and twelve great grandchildren. Keith also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane; one grandson Michael McCurdy, and his fur baby, Zack.
