Sgt Walter G. Hyatt

Walt was from Midland TX , and was also a Recon Sgt with an FO team, but do not know who the other teammates were.  Walt died after returning from Nam , but I don’t know how, when or where.  I do know that he was married and had a son, Monty.  He and  I made the same trip to Hawaii (his bunk was above mine on the ship, in December, 1963) and we were both assigned to Charlie Battery and for a while, we were both in the Ammo Section, until they decided I should take typing classes and become battery clerk.   Walt was a hard working, intelligent type guy and they put him on a gun section as assistant gunner, then gunner and finally, added to the FO teams.
